The Role...

We are seeking a Research Manager to join our PPB Research Team. PPB is part of a wider Flutter UK&I division which houses the Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power and Betfair brands. In this role you will lead on market and brand performance measurement initiatives across our Sports, Gaming and Bingo businesses. A key part of this role will be the development and embedding of a new in-house brand tracking program across each of brands and product verticals. The brand tracking program, along with other complementary data sources, provides vital information that you will leverage to help our businesses assess performance against their respective strategies, inform decision making and identify opportunities for growth.

In this role you will manage a team of three research executives across multiple locations. Are you an experienced market researcher that is comfortable with directing large tracking programs and has a track record of delivering analysis and interpretation of multiple data sources to develop a consistent customer and category narrative? Do you have extensive experience in research and analytics and are adept at effectively translating this type of information into clear and actionable findings? Importantly, are you a strong people manager with experience in team development, stakeholder management and prioritisation? 

What You'll be Doing... 

You will have significant visibility across the Flutter UK&I division, both with stakeholders and other analytics/insight functions. As such, the ability to collaborate with other teams and bring the voice of the customer closer to business metrics is an integral part of the role. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the “voice of the punter” to enable the business to make informed decisions based on deep customer understanding and insight
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the development and embedding of a new in-house brand tracking program across each brand (Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power and Betfair) and product vertical (Sports, Gaming, Bingo)
  • Aid the business in understanding our position and opportunities in the online betting/gaming/bingo markets, continuously looking at market trends and competitor activity
  • Manage key supplier relationships and continuously optimise ways of working to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Be responsible for the line management and development of the UK&I Tracking Team
  • Respond to requests for analysis and be a key voice for prioritising workload – ensuring the most important strategic projects get the necessary resource.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to better understand online bettors in the UK&I, their motivations and our brand performance against them

What We're Looking For... 

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Numerate with experience in research or data led environments
  • Experience of statistical packages – particularly, Q
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
  • Solid knowledge of quantitative statistical research techniques and measurements
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced, digital environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to distil large amounts of data into actionable recommendations
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to see commercial opportunities
  • Proactive mind-set (essential), industry knowledge (highly desirable)
  • Ability to think logically and strategically

Qualifications, Experience, Other...

  • Highly numerical / analytical graduate
  • 5+ years insight experience either client side or research agency (or equivalent)
  • Regular travel between Dublin, London, Leeds
