The Role...

The Group Head of Corporate Campaigns is a new role within the corporate affairs team which will be part of the corporate affairs leadership team, reporting to the Group Corporate Affairs Director and working on the overall Group communication strategy with a specific focus on proactive storytelling and external engagement for the Group and its divisions.

What You'll Be Doing...

  • Design and deliver communications strategies which build value in our reputation and insulate the business from unwarranted criticism.
  • Grow and develop a consistent and coherent corporate narrative which articulates what Flutter stands across our various stakeholder groups
  • Maintain and cultivate strong relationships across the business including with senior Group colleagues and brand leaders ensuring that campaigns and activities work to support all aspects of our business.
  • Draft media materials, CEO speeches, reactive statements and lines to take in partnership with the Group Director and Group Head of Corporate Affairs sensitive to the external context, market regulation and our own unique culture and business.
  • Own and advance a programme of proactive campaigns which:
  • Build value in the reputation of Flutter and which differentiate our business from the competition
  • Are overheard by policymakers and influencers such that risks are mitigated and dialogue enhanced
  • Are admired by shareholders such that they enhance our equity and investment story
  • Demonstrate a creative flair at the heart of one of the world's best entertainment-led companies

What We're Looking For....

  • This position requires someone with significant corporate communications and campaigning experience most likely obtained in a regulated or contentious sector either in-house or from a respected agency. Knowledge of gaming is not essential. But knowing how to both defend and proactively build reputations for a business that polarises opinion will be vital.
  • Proven corporate communications or corporate affairs leadership experience, preferably gained within highly regulated or high-profile markets, either in house or agency
  • A track record in the development and implementation of domestic and international media campaigns to support business objectives
  • The ability and experience to understand how proactive campaigns dovetail with the rest of the comms landscape from issues management to CSR and public affairs
  • Media contacts - an ability to influence and build strong relationships with key journalists, business editors and commentators to gain maximum benefit for the Group
  • Good understanding of how to build and develop campaigns which work as effectively through digital channels as in traditional media
  • Senior advisory - solid experience and credibility in supporting senior leaders as spokespersons
  • Leadership skills and experience to motivate an internal team and external consultancy to deliver the media strategy, sometimes under high pressure circumstances
  • The ability to adapt to handle often fast changing and challenging situations calmly and with necessary pace including preparedness to roll sleeves up when needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
