The role...

Are you a qualified accountant with relevant experience in reporting and forecasting? Do you have a minimum of 5+ years working in a similar environment with a proven track record in financial reporting / management? Do you have experience of Hyperion Planning or other similar financial systems an advantage?

This permanent role within the Group FP&A team supports the head of FP&A. The role will be suited to someone who has extensive experience in forecasting, reporting and analysis.


What you'll be doing...

You will support the head of FP&A, with one direct report. You will be accountable for setting objectives, performance management, and development planning.

Financial Planning

You will support planning, co-ordination, consolidation, analysis and reporting of routine Group Budgets, Forecasts, and Long-Term Plans, including:

  • Support the planning and communication of forecast timetables.
  • Prepare guidance documents in advance of major planning cycles.
  • Support Finance business partners, Australia, the US and other planners during the planning cycle.

You have responsibility for Group consolidation of forecasts, for preparation of Group forecast & budget packs, this includes;

  • Analysis of forecast changes, preparation of commentaries, tables, preparation of Board packs, etc.
  • Implementing new accounting policies to planning, such as IFRS16. And provide updates on external segmental P&L at each quarterly forecast, budget and at regular intervals at other times.

Other obligations include periodic forecasts, maintain and communicate the rolling forecast, including update to latest week's trading and rolling projection to the end of the current month.

Financial Reporting

You must support accurate and timely financial reporting for the Group, including:

  • Review and understand actual performance, including:
    • review of current revenue trends
    • run monthly review of actual P&L variances, reconcile to rolling forecast and update into rolling forecast, including any re-phasing impact
    • maintain once off cost tracking
  • Responsible for preparation and updates to segmental P&L, including ensuring it is updated each week as part of rolling forecast, significant review of costs at each HY and re-development as required.
  • Support interims and year-end planning.
  • Business partner with other Finance colleagues across all regions to deliver reporting improvements and reflect business changes in planning and reporting.
  • Responsible for Group analysis/modelling requests.
  • Support changes in reporting e.g. dual reporting of IFRS16 in 2019.
  • Bring ideas and support implementation of changes to drive improvements in reporting.

Investor Relations

You will provide analysis and support for periodic external reports to the market, and work closely with the co-heads of IR on delivery of requirements. And provide ad hoc analysis work to support investor relations requirements.

Systems, processes and procedures

The successful candidate will business partner with the Hyperion support team (in BI) in driving user requirements and overseeing management of Hyperion Planning, which includes;

  • Oversee in an advisory capacity the ongoing management of Hyperion Planning month-end and planning routines, including reporting of Retail LFL and constant currency reporting
  • Filter and advise on budget and forecast development requests.
  • Support Hyperion Planning projects or upgrade testing, such as the Aus/US Oracle Integration, the LTP upgrade.
  • Brainstorming how to implement reporting changes as required.
  • Manage delivery of organisation restructures.
  • Continuous review of processes and procedures considering business requirements and changes.


The successor will provide analytical support, business analysis, and financial modelling for M&A. And re-design and re-development of existing FP&A processes and ways of working to embed new business.


What we're looking for...

Are you a qualified accountant with relevant experience in reporting and forecasting?

Do you have a minimum of 5+ years working in a similar environment with a proven track record in financial reporting / management?

Do you have experience of Hyperion Planning or other similar financial systems an advantage?

We are looking for someone with all of the above. The successful candidate also needs;

  • History of development and implementation of process improvement in a similar environment.
  • Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel.
