Context & Purpose of the Role

The merger of Flutter and Stars Group creates the largest online gaming company in the world, and a FTSE 40 listed Group.

This brings Group Reporting responsibilities for the consolidated group to one location at our headquarters in Dublin. The merger added significant breadth and complexity to the remit of the Group Accounting & Reporting function, and this has created a requirement for a Finance manager to join the team in this newly created role.


Job Description

The Finance Manager - Statutory Reporting will have a leading role in the preparation, review and ownership of Statutory Financial Statements for multiple legal entities within the Group and will be responsible for managing, tracking and coordinating all aspects of intercompany transactions and agreements between all Group legal entities.  The Finance Manager will establish a good working relationship and work closely with senior management in various departments across the Group including subsidiary finance teams, the Group tax team, the Group Treasury team as well as Legal, Company Secretarial and Compliance.

In light of the recent merger and with integration underway, responsibilities for this role will include leading on all accounting workstreams relating to tax and legal restructuring projects as well as leading in terms of enhancing and establishing new and robust processes for managing, tracking, coordinating and accounting for all aspects of Intercompany reporting within the enlarged Group.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination, Preparation and Review of Statutory Financial Statements in a timely manner and in accordance with IFRS, FRS 101 and relevant Company law requirements.
  • Liaise with group external auditors to ensure timely efficient audit completion on statutory financial statements.
  • Lead on all accounting workstreams working closely with Group Legal and Tax on various projects
  • Work closely with Group Treasury to analyse foreign currency translation impact on legal entity I/C balances, identify risk areas and develop long term solutions to manage
  • Global management of Intercompany transactions and agreements across all group legal entities, including operating, capital and financing transactions
  • Active involvement in the ongoing documentation and maintenance of relevant internal controls processes to meet reporting compliance requirements
  • Enhance existing processes around Intercompany management and reporting to include the Combined Group, including internal controls
  • Liaise and coordinate with treasury, tax and relevant finance teams to ensure transactions are properly executed and consistently recorded in the Company's G/L
  • Liaise and coordinate with the legal team to ensure transactions are supported by the appropriate documentation and approvals
  • Assist with monthly consolidation process and Group external reporting as required
  • Other Ad Hoc projects as required
  • Build strong, positive and influential relationships with internal stakeholders (ie, segment finance teams, senior management and other corporate groups)
  • Assist with the preparation of Annual and Interim published financial reports in accordance with IFRS in association with other key finance personnel, meeting demanding Stock Exchange and Combined Code requirements
  • Proactively identify improvements to existing processes or new processes to add value to reporting output



Key Skills & Experience:


  • University degree in finance/ accounting
  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years post qualification experience
  • Excellent IFRS & FRS 101 financial accounting experience with extensive knowledge of relevant technical accounting and Company law requirements.
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing reporting & operating process improvements in a Finance environment
  • Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions
  • Strong process, technical and analytical skills, combined with strong commercial acumen
  • A keen strategic thinker with the ability to set objectives and priorities
  • Strong work ethic – dedicated, driven and accountable
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • High energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and changing environment
  • The potential to take on increasingly senior roles within Flutter Entertainment Group
  • Assertive and confident, operating credibly with senior stakeholders. Professional, developed influencing skills
  • Solid Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with GL systems, consolidation and reporting systems is an asset
  • Experience of a plc environment would be an asset
