The Role...

Are you a qualified accountant with 3+ years' post qualification experience, with strong academic credentials (e.g. honours degree) operating at a similar level in industry or financial services? Do you have excellent IFRS financial accounting experience with extensive knowledge of relevant technical accounting standards? Do you have proven experience of developing and implementing reporting & operating process improvements in a Finance environment,, and experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions?

This brings Group Reporting responsibilities of both companies together in one location at our headquarters in Dublin. The merger has added significant breadth and complexity to the remit of the Group Accounting & Reporting function, and this has created a requirement for a Finance manager to join the team in this newly created role.

This role is key in the delivery of financial reporting across the Flutter Entertainment Group. The Group Reporting Manager will have a essential role in the consolidation process and preparing and communicating the consolidated position to CFO, to ExCo and the board as well as for external reporting in the Annual and Interim published financial reports.

This key role will assist in managing all financial reporting action which ultimately deliver Group statutory and external requirements for Flutter Entertainment plc in accordance with strict deadlines and best practice, closely monitoring developments in International Accounting Standards.

 

What You'll be Doing... 

The position provides oversight and review of accounting/reporting across all jurisdictions in which the Group operates and also provides essential Finance expertise and ongoing support to the business on the accounting implications of new business initiatives.

In light of the recent merger and with integration underway, this position will be involved in the consolidation of all entities on Oracle and responsibilities will include directing on creating robust processes for the consolidation within the Group Accounting & Reporting function.

  • Ownership of monthly consolidation process and financial reporting of Flutter subsidiaries and build strong connections with the various Finance teams, to ensure reporting requirements are coordinated and deadlines achieved
  • Constantly improve the monthly close process and related outputs, working with Business Accounting teams
  • guide on various Group reporting projects
  • Production of Annual and Interim published financial reports in accordance with IFRS in league with other key finance personnel, meeting demanding Stock Exchange and Combined Code requirements
  • Consolidation of the Flutter Entertainment financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • work jointly with statutory accounting teams, technical accounting team, tax and other finance functions, key business stakeholders, and local accountants to support the construction and review of consolidated financial statements.
  • Display exemplary leadership qualities consistently amongst the wider Finance team and across the organisation
  • Develop close working relationships with senior finance management in all Flutter divisions
  • Liaise with group external auditors on to ensure timely efficient audit completion.
  • steer on the development and maintenance of the Group General Ledger and the Group Chart of Accounts to ensure that they constantly evolve to meet business needs
  • Proactively discover upgrades to existing processes or new processes to add value to reporting output

Experience of a plc would be desired.
