Role purpose:

This role requires a skilled technology expert responsible for the design and implementation of workplace technologies and ensuring alignment with the Flutter Technology strategy. The role will contribute, as and when required, in the evaluation and in the selection of the technologies, tools, architecture models, components required to achieve our group technology objectives. 


  • The Workplace Engineer will need to review, assess and define technical requirements, LLDs, process creation, and maintenance plans (including sign off) for the Flutter Group Functions Projects, based on the suitability to align with divisional requirements;
  • Full-service engagement and provide ideas, options, solutions and advice to global projects;
  • Define formal application onboarding and provisioning model, including SLA's, audit controls, and develop a ways of working between divisions and Group;
  • Responsible for the Identity Management platform for the Group hub, and supporting the Divisional spokes;
  • Responsible for the administration of any Flutter instances of global tools for Communication and Collaboration;
  • Responsible for the triage and resolution of Flutter Workplace technology Incidents and Service Requests;
  • Responsible for Globally available Application Incidents and Service Requests;
  • Manage and support Flutter and Group Proof-of-Concepts;
  • Support Flutter and Group IAM audit responses;
  • Develop and support plans for global technologies that integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure;
  • Support the Workplace Architect and Divisional leads with Office Technology and Workplace strategies;
  • Facilitate the development and communication of Flutter Group standards for design, development and deployment;
  • Trusted business partner to encourage interaction from the area (answer ad-hoc questions, share technical expertise, improve processes, improve understanding of how business areas interact with Workplace Technology);
  • Ownership to create and to drive adoption of standard operating procedures/RunBooks and Workplace standards and policies;
  • On-call likely to be introduced in the future

  • Experience as part of a complex architecture/development practice, working on multiple large and complex projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrable impact on strategic development of technology in a medium or large sized company
  • Able to take a holistic view of technology across the business
  • Dependability and consistency in successfully running multiple activities varied in scope and complexity and display of a consistent ability to deliver results on time and on budget
  • Experience in managing global distributed processes with matrix responsibilities
  • Experience with the following technologies would be advantageous:
    • Office 365 incl Exchange Online
    • Okta IAM
    • Slack and Enterprise Grid
